Product description
Abura age are thin pouches of deep-fried tofu — fluffy, soft, and delightfully easy to work with. They soak up broth and seasoning beautifully, making them a workhorse of Japanese home cooking: stuff them with vinegared rice for inari sushi, tuck mochi inside and grill them, or slice them into miso soup and simmered dishes. Each pouch is pre-cut to open easily, so they go straight from the pack into your recipe.
Storage & Handling
Keep frozen until use.
Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, or blanch frozen pouches directly in boiling water for 30 seconds (this doubles as a defrost and de-oiling step).
After thawing, keep refrigerated and use within 2 days. Do not refreeze.
